ATELIER BAILISS & ALICIA ARTS, presented their creations together on the MCFW catwalk, presented by Fashion Curator.
ALICIA ARTS is a luxury handbag brand that combines bold looks with timeless style to offer the most unique, edgy and exquisitely crafted bags. With its tasteful blend of embellishment and beads, Alicia Arts handbag is an ultimate show-stopping accessory. Behind the brand is an extremely talented Egyptian fashion living and working in her country of origin. Alia Abd El-Aziz has always been drawn to elegant handmade art pieces. The source of Alia’s inspiration is the beauty of nature and she plays outstanding color combinations, in a mix of strong and soft concepts to deliver beauty in its most charming form. Alia's insistence on nothing but the best, and her attention to the smallest detail has quickly turned her into one of Egypt's most in-demand handbag designers.
BAILISSATELIER, was launched in Moscow in 2014 by designers Larisa and Alisa Baysarov. The 2018 spring-summer collection from Bailiss is a first for the brand! By creating the entire collection from a single unifying concept. The main SS18 theme is Flora and Birds. Floral elements will blossom gentle buds and hummingbirds beating their wings on most of their designs. The creative elements are made with Bailiss’ unique embroidery technique which retains the natural shape of flowers, whether roses, tulips or cornflowers and gives a natural flow and feel to the birds. This year’s designs are like classical music: avoiding unnecessary extravagance and flamboyance. Each dress in the collection embodies the search for new language and conversation in a complex cut. Darts, undercuts, assemblies and folds are denied their usual places so they play a harmonious dance with the female figure, not contradicting it, but, rather, giving it an exquisite compliment. The original emphasis is on the lines of the cut, accentuated by the machine embroidery and further expressed by hand beading. Bailiss Atelier uses only natural fabrics, which will give special pleasure to the wearer. The selection of colours in their Haute Couture collection is always a place where a very intuitive approach works best. Calm blues, browns and greens are responsible for simpler yet elegant images, but radiant shades of lavender, frank fuchsia and glowing red start to appear in their most significant pieces in the collection.
