Elie Saab Bridal Prêt-à-porter collection 2018

One year since its launch, ELIE SAAB Bridal continues its ready-to-wear interpretation for the bride-to-be.

With petals falling upon them as if from cherry blossom trees in bloom, thirteen looks include a diverse selection of gowns, drawn in at the waist. One style features a grand overskirt – to be removed as celebrations turn to dancing, revealing a more streamlined, close-to-body silhouette, still elaborately embroidered.

A wide-leg jumpsuit, meanwhile, contrasts a delicate lace bust with a shoulder-draped cape for a fluid, feminine yet daring statement of modernity. Another hooded cape cascades from shoulders in embroidered tulle, for a trompe-l'œil effect as if it were a traditional veil.

Upper bodices range from structural frames with lace inserts to off-the-shoulder sweetheart necklines, while others remain minimal with fine spaghetti straps. Lace motifs add transparency along backs and arms at full-length, signed with lines of white satin buttons.

Variations of tonal whites continue, with a soft blush hue debuting for the season, tinged with the palest pink. Gowns are embellished with 3-D floral appliqués and small pearls, drifting downward like petals to blend with veils that uplift the gowns’ delicate embroidery and sparkle. Veils are especially aerated, like morning mist, gossamer and whisper-light.

Accessories such as a fur stole and sunglasses add contemporary flair. Cuffs, headbands, earrings and rings playfully and graphically express the ELIE SAAB Bridal signature – Oui.
