Paris Haute Couture, Franck Sorbier SS 2019

On the stage, on a theater that becomes a metaphor for life, Franck Sorbier launches, with a decidedly original dramatic verve, his new spring/summer 2019 Haute Couture collection in which East and West meet in total harmony and respect, without unnecessarily superimposing since both are proud custodians of millennia of history.

Japan, with its marvelous kimonos, made of precious fabrics that capture light in a wonderful way, is one of the great protagonists of this fashion "show", a fashion and culture show that captures the attention of the press and insiders transformed for once all into spectators. Evening dresses finely made with carvings that make them perfect for dancing and moving creating visual carambolas of considerable visual impact are one of the great must of this collection in which the designer wanted to show the extreme versatility of clothes intended not only to walk along a catwalk, but to move adapting to the movements of the human body, as will actually happen in reality when they become part of the daily life of women.

Almost burlesque in their sensual bodices and skirts with overlapping frills that with see-through effects suggest an idea of retro femininity, poetically vintage that, culturally, also bring to mind the mythical heroines of the Great Tradition of Opera. Carmen, Tosca, Mimì, Liù ... what a dream couture!
