Paris Haute Couture F/W 2018-19, Christian Dior Couture

The Paris of dreams in the collective imagination, that of the golden age with Monsieur Christian Dior and of the cult movie "An American in Paris" by Vincent Minnelli with the unforgettable music of George Gershwin, is the inspiration of the wonderful haute couture collection that Maria Grazia Chiuri has created for the fall / winter 2018-19 of the Dior maison.

Rather than drawing deeply on the archives and heritage of the French fashion house, re-proposing the great classics of all time, the Italian designer closed her eyes and let herself be lulled by all the suggestions that the name Paris in the Second World War evokes in the minds of all of us and from there we started looking for that far Eden, made of bon ton and tres parisienne tres chic style, including haute coats and knee length skirts, rigorous tweed suits that enhance the feminine curves up a sumptuous yet delicate evening dresses with wide corolla skirts made of pastel tulle for dream dances in locations that were and still are pure poetry. A dive into the past in waters but very fresh because, as Italo Calvino wrote, "a true classic is something that has never finished saying what it has to say". Just like Paris.
